ISRO has invited applications from interested students and professionals for a free online course on Global Navigation Satellite System

The certificate will be issued within 2 to 3 weeks of online examination. The certificate will be available through coordinator of networked Institution (if applicable). The certificate will also be available under E-CLASS login of each participant

ISRO’s Free Online Course Will Cover the Following Topics

As the use of these technologies grows, the course seeks to teach workers in the global navigation satellite system and related geospatial technologies. The following are some of the subjects that will be addressed in the ISRO free online course:

An overview of GPS and GNSS.
GPS receivers, processing methods, errors, and precision are all discussed.
Augmentation systems based on satellites, as well as GPS-assisted and GEO-assisted navigation (GAGAN).
Signal qualities and data formats, such as broadcast and accurate ephemeris, are all factors to consider while using GPS.
Regional Navigation Satellite System of India (IRNSS).
Demonstration of DGPS
GNSS processing has progressed.

Who is eligible to participate in the ISRO’s free online course?

The following individuals are eligible to participate in the course:
Students in any year of their undergraduate or postgraduate studies are eligible.
Faculty or researchers at universities and institutions, as well as technical or scientific staff of the federal or state governments.

 

ISRO’s Free Online Course Requirements

The course does not have any special hardware or software requirements, but participants will need the following basic amenities:

  • A desktop computer with a webcam, microphone, and speaker output, or a laptop with a microphone, camera, and speaker output.
  • Individuals can watch the course live on the IIRS Dehradun’s eclass portal or the institute’s official YouTube channel using any web browser.
  • Participants can also use their personal smartphones to attend class.

How to Register for a Free ISRO Online Course

Participants can register for the course either individually or through the nodal institute by visiting the official website. To take part in the IIRS Outreach program, interested organizations, universities, departments, or institutes must designate a coordinator who will register their Institute as a nodal center on the IIRS website. Participants must be approved for the course by the coordinator. If their institute is not part of the IIRS Outreach network, participants can register using the Individual registration option.
